I am happy to announce that I will be a featured Concert Performer and Artist Faculty this Summer at the Alion Baltic International Music Festival in beautiful and historic Tallinn, Estonia! This festival is quickly becoming the Premiere Music Festival of Northern Europe, and features a unique blend of concerts (by some of the leading classical artists in the world), and moreover offers unparalleled opportunities for students to study with these International Virtuosi. Tuition is comprised of an admixture of Private Lessons, Masterclasses, Chamber Music Coachings, along with numerous opportunities for students to perform in recitals—including that of “sharing the stage” with one’s Artist-Teacher on occasion! Dear Friends, Colleagues, Students, Opera & Guitar Aficionados,
Please join Internationally renowned soprano Sungji Kim and myself for a recital on Sunday, 12 March, 2:00 PM, at the Mt. Laurel Library. Featured will be Italian arias by the great virtuoso guitarist-composer Mauro Giuliani; German songs by Franz Schubert (including three of his most famous lieder masterpieces: Auf dem Wasser zu singen, Ave Maria, and Gretchen am Spinnrade); Heitor Villa-Lobos’ beloved Bachianas Brasileiras No.5; and solo guitar works by the Romantic Era’s greatest composer-guitarists J.K Mertz, Ivan Padovec and others. “Di tanti palpiti” — based upon Rossini’s famous operatic aria – and set for in grand operatic style for voice and guitar by Giuliani — will highlight the program. We hope to see you there!

Marcelo Coronel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1962. As a child he learned to sing simple Argentine folksongs while playing along with a guitar. The styles of urban music later exposed Marcelo to a world of new sounds. He eventually entered the School of Music at the National University of Rosario, where he formalized his musical education before graduating with an advanced degree in Music – Emphasis on Guitar. Paralleling his university course work, Marcelo studied harmony and counterpoint with the composer Dante Grela. As a performer Marcelo has participated in a number of popular and chamber music ensembles.
