This year marks the celebration of the 100th birthday of classical guitar pedagogue Aaron Shearer. The Aaron Shearer Foundation is presenting the Carnegie Hall debut of the US Guitar Orchestra directed by Dr. Kami Rowan with special guest William Kanengiser and an appearance by the New York City Guitar Orchestra. The program will include three World and one New York Premieres of new works by Sergio Assad, Kevin Callahan, Brian Head, and Bryan Johanson.

Aaron Shearer is recognized as the father of classical guitar pedagogy in the United States and 2019 marks the celebration of his 100th birthday. As part of his centennial celebration, The Aaron Shearer Foundation is presenting The Shearer Virtuosos, three of Shearer’s students who have gone on to careers as virtuoso classical guitar performers—Manuel BarruecoRicardo Cobo, and David Tanenbaum.
