its Artist Concert Series. This captivating program will feature a mix of beloved
classics and diverse folk traditions, including the works of Bach, Giuliani,
Ponce, as well as Chinese and Puerto Rican folk songs
About the Artists: Weiwei & José are
an exciting classical duo, combining the talents of pianist Dr. Weiwei Zhai and
guitarist Dr. José Maldonado. Together, they create a vibrant fusion of Chinese
folk music, Latin rhythms, and classical masterpieces. This unique blend
highlights their versatility and passion for connecting diverse musical
traditions. Join Weiwei & José for an unforgettable performance, where
their love for teaching and performing comes to life! They are accomplished
musicians based in NYC and inspire audiences of all ages with their infectious
energy and dedication to education. Perfect for families, this is an event
everyone can enjoy.
About the Program: The evening will
include a wide array of works for piano and guitar, including a special
arrangement of Bach’s Trio Sonata No. 5 in C Major, BWV 529, Manuel María
Ponce’s Preludium, the evocative Boatman Song by Chinese composer Liu Qing, and
a few significant works from the 19th century. More
