Jazz Improvisation for Classical Musicians at Fort Lee School of Music

A week of lessons and group workshops immersed in the art of jazz improvisation — with classically trained musicians in mind.  Learn different improvisational techniques for any instrument with jazz professor, Philip Weberndörfer. This week-long program is designed for (but not limited to) “classically” trained musicians and will include Private Lessons, Group Improvisation/Group Theory Workshops, and a Registrants’ Concert at the National Opera Center in New York City.

Stanley Alexandrowicz on WPRB

Join International Classical Guitar Virtuoso Stanley Alexandrowicz and Composer-Conductor Maestro Robert W. Butts of the BONJ when they join Princeton’s Premiere Classical Music Radio Host Marvin Rosen this Wednesday 11 April @ 10:00 AM on “Classical Discoveries” at WPRB 103.3 FM! They will discuss Stanley’s upcoming recital at the magnificent 1867 Sanctuary in Ewing NJ (29 April @ 7:30 PM) wherein he will perform Romantic Period Virtuoso Guitar Works, Maestro Butts’ world-famous “Early Morning Suite” and moreover will pay homage to the late Czech composer Maestro Vácav Kučera (1929-2017). They will speak about the NJ Premiere of Maestro Robert W. Butts’ Tombeau—In Memoriam Vácav Kučera, the concert’s “centerpiece work” the profoundly moving Diario—Omaggio a Che Guevara by Vácav Kučera, and the “working relationship” between today’s living composers and concert performers! Numerous sound clips of compositions by Vácav Kučera, Maestro Butts, Baltimore composer Prof. Kendall Kennison will be featured!

WPU Guitarfest 2017 Master Class with Paul Galbraith

•          Admission to the William Paterson University Guitarfest 2017 is $20.
•          Students wishing to participate in the master class with the Paul Galbraith will pay $75. Any student wishing to participate must contact Gabriel Handy or Seth Himmelhoch and submit an audition recording (see contact information on left panel). This charge will also include admission to all Guitarfest events.
•          All events are free to William Paterson students. (Please bring student ID.)

Alion Baltic International Music Festival in beautiful and historic Tallinn, Estonia

I am happy to announce that I will be a featured Concert Performer and Artist Faculty this Summer at the Alion Baltic International Music Festival in beautiful and historic Tallinn, Estonia! This festival is quickly becoming the Premiere Music Festival of Northern Europe, and features a unique blend of concerts (by some of the leading classical artists in the world), and moreover offers unparalleled opportunities for students to study with these International Virtuosi. Tuition is comprised of an admixture of Private Lessons, Masterclasses, Chamber Music Coachings, along with numerous opportunities for students to perform in recitals—including that of “sharing the stage” with one’s Artist-Teacher on occasion! In addition to classical guitar, piano, strings, all orchestral instruments, composition, voice and opera are offered as fields of study.
