WPU Guitarfest 2017 Master Class with Paul Galbraith

Dear guitar students and teachers,
We are very excited to have Mr. Paul Galbraith teaching a master class at our festival this year on April 29th.  We have openings for performers in the master class and we hope to fill those openings as soon as possible.
We are accepting audition recordings in video or audio form on disc sent to me by mail at:

Audition recordings must be submitted by Sunday, April 23rd.
The masterclass is being held from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday, April 29th.  The location is Shea Center recital hall (room 101), William Paterson University, 300 Pompton Road, Wayne, NJ.
The fee is $75 for chosen participants and this includes admission to the other events at Guitarfest.

•          Admission to the William Paterson University Guitarfest 2017 is $20.
•          Students wishing to participate in the master class with the Paul Galbraith will pay $75. Any student wishing to participate must contact Gabriel Handy or Seth Himmelhoch and submit an audition recording (see contact information on left panel). This charge will also include admission to all Guitarfest events.
•          All events are free to William Paterson students. (Please bring student ID.)

Alion Baltic International Music Festival in beautiful and historic Tallinn, Estonia

I am happy to announce that I will be a featured Concert Performer and Artist Faculty this Summer at the Alion Baltic International Music Festival in beautiful and historic Tallinn, Estonia! This festival is quickly becoming the Premiere Music Festival of Northern Europe, and features a unique blend of concerts (by some of the leading classical artists in the world), and moreover offers unparalleled opportunities for students to study with these International Virtuosi. Tuition is comprised of an admixture of Private Lessons, Masterclasses, Chamber Music Coachings, along with numerous opportunities for students to perform in recitals—including that of “sharing the stage” with one’s Artist-Teacher on occasion! In addition to classical guitar, piano, strings, all orchestral instruments, composition, voice and opera are offered as fields of study.

The Westminster Conservatory of Music presents an evening of music for classical guitar. Enjoy The Guitars of Westminster as they give an electrifying performance of works by Brouwer, Lhoyer, Biberian, Telemann, Joplin and a world premiere written by Jennifer Castellano.

NEW YORK: Very excited for a concert next Wendesday (March 22nd, 7:30pm) for the New York City Classical Guitar Society, with my ensemble Boyd Meets Girl, with my wife, cellist Laura Metcalf:

The concert will be held in the beautiful recital hall at The Diller-Quaile School of Music, and we will perform works by J.S. Bach, Piazzolla, Zenamon, Falla, Edwards, et al. Tickets and details can be found here:

ALBUM: For those not in New York, we have recorded much of this repertoire for our forthcoming debut album as an ensemble, and very excited to share it with you when released in a few months time!

First-place winners will also open for guitar legend and Festival headliner Kevin Eubanks.

The Art of Song  Sungji Kim (soprano) – Stanley Alexandrowicz (classical guitar) Sunday, March 12

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Students, Opera & Guitar Aficionados,

Please join Internationally renowned soprano Sungji Kim and myself for a recital on Sunday, 12 March, 2:00 PM, at the Mt. Laurel Library. Featured will be Italian arias  by the great virtuoso guitarist-composer Mauro Giuliani; German songs by Franz Schubert (including three of his most famous lieder masterpieces: Auf dem Wasser zu singen, Ave Maria, and Gretchen am Spinnrade); Heitor Villa-Lobos’ beloved Bachianas Brasileiras No.5; and solo guitar works by the Romantic Era’s greatest composer-guitarists J.K Mertz, Ivan Padovec and others. “Di tanti palpiti” — based upon Rossini’s famous operatic aria – and set for in grand operatic style for voice and guitar by Giuliani — will highlight the program. We hope to see you there!
