92Y presents Paco Peña

September 5th, 2017

Esencias: The Music of Flamenco — Paco Peña, flamenco guitar with Special Guests

Only NYC Appearance of the Season
 Sat, Oct 21, 2017, 8 pm

Legendary flamenco guitarist and artist Paco Peña earned a Kennedy Center Gold Medal in the Arts for his lifelong commitment to the mastery and innovation of the art of flamenco. The New York Times went on to say, “(Peña) combines rapid-fire flourishes with a colorist’s sense of shading; this listener cannot recall hearing any guitarist with a more assured mastery of his instrument.” In his only NYC appearance of the season, Peña and his brilliant special guests will highlight the power of the guitar alone to reveal the essence of this passionate art form. With 92Y’s rich history of presenting the greatest masters of the guitar, we are thrilled to be welcoming back a maestro. Don’t miss this special event.
